Prophecy

The word prophecy is associated with prophet. The utterance of a prophet about future is a prophecy. Moses was a prophet and so was Mohammad and there have been so many others.

They all foreshadowed the Great Prophet, God.  So prophecy is a divine inspiration, revelation or interpretation of the events to come. Prophetic revelation occurs when a person is divinely inspired.

A psychic is a kind of prophet because he makes the future revelation in a state of divine inspiration. This inspiration comes to him from numerous sources. It may come to him from his intuition, sixth sense, third eye or as a hunch. A true psychic, therefore, does not have to make artificial effort to get the divine inspiration for prophecy. It comes to him as naturally as it is known to come to the prophets.

The Catholic Encyclopedia, however, defines prophecy as not only the foreknowledge of the future events, but also of the “past events of which there is no memory---- and which cannot be known by the natural light of reason.”
